The Four Letter Word that Rules the World. #WakeUpWednesday

Beyoncé might argue that GIRLS rule the world (insert song Lyrics, "Who runs the world, GIRLS"), but in my humble opinion it's not that simple.

The four letter word that runs our world is none other than FEAR!

Not to be a downer, but unless empowered otherwise, most people run their lives on a healthy diet of fear, drama and victimhood.  No kidding, just scan the tv channels or pick up a magazine, the majority of the message being offered up is in response to threats, and how to "fix" problems.

To shed some light and provide a definition here is what Wikipedia had to say about fear:

"Fear is an emotion induced by a threat perceived by living entities, which causes a change in brain and organ function and ultimately a change in behavior, such as running away, hiding or freezing from traumatic events. Fear may occur in response to a specific stimulus happening in the present, or to a future situation, which is perceived as risk to health or life, status, power, security, or, in the case of humans, wealth or anything held valuable. The fear response arises from the perception of danger leading to confrontation with or escape from/avoiding the threat (also known as the fight-or-flight response), which in extreme cases of fear (horror and terror) can be a freeze response or paralysis".- Wiki says

One of my favorite contemplations points is that FEAR is Fantasy! At large, fear is totally made up and yet has a choke hold on many lives.

I don't normally do this, but I am leaving you with that; in my next post I will further un pack the fear idea and how I believe it really impacts our lives, and what to do about it.

However for today, if you would like to take a moment to reflect on how much of your life is currently fantasy driven and how much is firmly rooted in what is real?

Thanks for reading, I am looking forward to sharing more on the topic.

cheers,

Lindsey
